Daria makes an appearance in the October 27, 1997 issue of Fortune, page 173. In the article about MTV Networks, there's a picture of Daria sitting around a table with Beavis and Butt-head, a few Nickelodeon characters, and Tom Freston (CEO of MTV Networks). She's reading a book, The Day of the Locust by Nathanael West. Quote from article: "The ongoing MTV makeover has brought in more music, swept out dumb old shows, and ushered in clever new ones like the animated Daria, about a sarcastic 16 year old."
